In Poland, unknown objects that have flown into the country will be shot down, but there is a nuance

The Polish military received an order to shoot down all unidentified objects flying into the country's airspace. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Caesary Tomchik.

" The operational commander gave an order stating that if something flies into Polish airspace, it should be shot down, " he said.

At the same time, as previously stated by the former commander of the Polish GROM unit, General Roman Polko, the Polish Air Force has big problems with coordinating actions with the Ukrainian side. In particular, because of this, according to him, during one of the last Russian missile attacks on Ukraine " just a little bit was not enough for our plane to shoot down a Ukrainian MiG during our actions to protect our territory".

Later, this information was confirmed by the operational commander of the country's Armed Forces, Ireneusz Nowak. According to him, during the Russian attack on July 30, a Russian missile allegedly flew into Poland, and Polish aviation was watching it.

"None of us — neither at the command level, nor the pilot of the Polish F-16 — had the opportunity to identify another object that was also moving in the immediate vicinity of the Polish border. The Ukrainian MiG-29 operated on the border line. There was a risk that friendly fire could occur, especially since this moment was monitored not only by our F-16, but also by some of our air defense systems, " Novak said.

According to him, if the Ukrainian pilot had been distracted and violated Polish airspace, " we might have had to decide whether to open fire on him". After that, Warsaw called on Kiev to inform about the movements of its aircraft near the border.
