Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he called LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky when he was hospitalized in a clinic and was dying.
This was reported on Saturday, April 25 by the Vesti edition, specifying that the head of state voiced his confession in the documentary film "Vladimir Zhirinovsky" of the Russia 1 TV channel.
"I called him on the phone at the clinic, I just wanted to support him. Of course, Vladimir Volfovich understood that he was in critical condition. But his last words were: "It's too early for me to leave. After all, Russia still needs me," the Russian leader conveyed the conversation.
He stressed that this was Zhirinovsky's character, his attitude to the case, and most importantly to the country.
"He measured everything to serve the Motherland," the president concluded.
Earlier, EADaily reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a message on the occasion of the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
