After the death of the star of the "Voice", a case of bringing to suicide was opened.

After complaints from the father of the star of the show "The Voice", the guest soloist of the Novaya Opera Theater and TV presenter Yevgeny Kungurov, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on driving to suicide. This is reported by Kommersant with reference to the lawyer of the father of the deceased Yevgeny Chernousov.

The publication believed that Kungurov passed away voluntarily, the preliminary investigation of the artist's family was refused.

"After the complaints of the father of the deceased to the leadership of the TFR and the prosecutor's office, the case was still opened — so far on the fact of his being driven to suicide, although Kungurov Sr. is convinced that the cause of his son's death was murder, and the suicide was staged," the publication says.

The letter on the initiation of the case signed by the deputy Presnensky interdistrict prosecutor Ruslan Ivanov was received by the bar association the day after the two-year anniversary of the singer's death.

According to Chernousov, his principal insisted on a different qualification of what happened to his son, demanding the initiation of a murder case by a group of persons (part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). However, the family currently has no plans to appeal the current wording.

Kungurov Sr. is preparing a new appeal to the leadership of the TFR and the prosecutor's office, in which he intends to ask for the transfer of case materials to the Main Directorate of the TFR in Moscow to exclude bias, which allegedly existed earlier. In addition, he intends to raise again the issue of conducting at least an internal audit against the investigator of the MRSO, who, in his opinion, intentionally or negligently failed to carry out the necessary initial investigative actions "in hot pursuit" after the death of his son.

As reported by EADaily, the body of Yevgeny Kungurov was found under the windows of his house in Moscow on April 8, 2024. Shortly before that, the artist's wife, according to the telegram channel Mash, received a message that he wanted to commit suicide.

The 40-year-old Kungurov was not on the psychiatric register, but was observed in a private clinic.

Earlier, Kungurov's father Viktor Evgenievich and his first wife Natalia Troitskaya in the program "Let them talk" denied the version of his suicide and tried to prove that the man was killed.

Yevgeny Kungurov is an Honored Artist of Russia, the Chechen Republic and Ingushetia, was a regular soloist of the Kaliningrad Musical Theater and a guest soloist of the Novaya Opera Theater. He led the program "Romance of Romance" on the TV channel "Culture", took part in the projects "Voice", "One in one", "Grand Opera".
