Oil company executives are appealing to the White House, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President Jay Dee Vance to protest against allowing Iran to charge fees for passage through the Strait of Hormuz. This was reported by Politico with reference to an industry representative.
The interlocutor of journalists noted that before the start of the military conflict, no fee was charged for passage through the waterway. He added that he believed that "we won the war." According to Politico, the administration of US President Donald Trump responds to complaints with "not a cold refusal."
"Rather, it's something like, 'Yes, well, we'll take note,'" the source told reporters.
Politico also reported that a meeting of representatives of the oil industry with senior members of the US administration took place on the morning of April 8.
