The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to massively attack new regions of Russia. Hundreds of settlements were left without electricity in the Zaporozhye region.
"Over the past day, the energy infrastructure of our region has been subjected to massive terrorist attacks by the enemy. As a result of the shelling, a number of power generation and distribution facilities were damaged," the governor of the Zaporozhye region, Yevgeny Balitsky, said in a telegram channel.
According to him, outages affected more than 260 settlements in the region.
"These are not planned, but forced temporary shutdowns, which are necessary to restore the normal operation of the equipment," Balitsky said.
All health facilities, as well as critical infrastructure facilities, have been transferred to backup power supply sources, the governor assured.
Balitsky then said that the power engineers had begun to connect consumers in step-by-step in settlements where temporary shutdowns had been introduced.
