After the Ukrainian transit of Russian gas was stopped, fuel supplies to Italy via Austria stopped, but the local operator continues to send invoices to Gazprom and is trying to get them through Sberbank. The Russian company is trying to invalidate the claims.
"Gazprom Export LLC has filed a lawsuit in a Russian court to invalidate TAG's claims. According to Gazprom Export, the court banned Sberbank from making guarantee payments in favor of TAG. Gazprom indicated that failure to take interim measures may make it difficult or impossible to execute the judicial act in the present case,"Interfax reports with reference to the materials of the Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.
The operator of the Trans-Austrian gas pipeline (TAG) provided transit of Russian gas to Italy, but since January 1, Ukraine has stopped its transit and supplies have stopped.
However, according to Interfax, TAG GmbH continued to send monthly invoices to Gazprom for payment and is already trying to get them from Sberbank as a guarantor. Obviously, there is a long-term contract between TAG and Gazprom that has "download or pay" conditions.
The preliminary court hearing of the arbitration court was scheduled for April 7.
