The profiles of the legendary Soviet and Latvian composer and pianist Raymond Pauls have disappeared from social networks X and Facebook❶. The Latvian media drew attention to this.
The composer's social media accounts were monitored by the record company MicRec in collaboration with the maestro's granddaughter Monica Pauls. The decision to close the Facebook profile❶ was made by his manager and lyricist Guntars Rachs, the NRA portal reports.
"Yes, we supported the aforementioned Pauls profile, and the maestro's granddaughter was also doing something there," Rachs confirmed.
This social media account has been temporarily closed until the public discussion of the concert subsides, in the title of which the name and surname of Pauls were included without the permission of the maestro.
At the same time, the profile on the X platform is not tracked by either Rachs or the record company. However, the author of the texts knew that on this platform there are several dozen other profiles with the name and surname of the legendary composer.
As EADaily reported, Pauls is actively trying to distance himself from the "Song Festival", which will be held in July this year in Mezapark (Riga), where it is allegedly planned to honor the Maestro in connection with his 90th birthday.
The event was announced back in January last year under the title "Raymond Pauls'Song Holidays "Manai dzimtenei" (To My Homeland). More than 13 thousand choristers from all over the world are going to come to a large-scale festival where only Pauls' music will be played.
Pauls expressed his dissatisfaction with the fact that the organization of the concert for many became an opportunity to make money on his name in an interview on the TV24 NedēļA program. Post scriptum back in December last year. He was also outraged by the fact that the organizers of the holiday demanded money from some rural collectives for participation. Then the Maestro even said that he wanted to ban the festival.
