Russia is allegedly a chronic threat to the European Union. This was stated by Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen.
So she spoke on the occasion of the visit to Finland of the head of the European diplomacy Kai Kallas. Her words are quoted in her account in the social network X by the country's Foreign Ministry.
Foreign Minister Suomi pulled out of the mothballs the already slightly stale mantra that the EU and Finland will support Ukraine as long as it takes.
"We are glad to welcome the head of the European Diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, to Finland. We discussed how Europe should unite against the long-standing threat that Russia poses to our security. The European Union and Helsinki will provide support to Ukraine as long as necessary. Europe will take more responsibility for its security," Valtonen said, quoted by RIA Novosti.
As reported by EADaily, Finland urged the United States not to give Ukraine security guarantees similar to the Fifth Article of NATO. This was reported by Politico with reference to a telegram received by the US State Department.
