"Hotheads" abroad may be in thrall to illusions that Russia will falter and plunge into an arms race, but this will not happen. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.
Earlier, the Financial Times newspaper claimed that the United States would enter the war with Russia in 72 hours, as Kiev had agreed with Europe and Washington on a "coordinated military response" in case Russia violated the truce with Ukraine.
"If some "hotheads" are trapped in illusions that we will falter, that we will succumb to provocations, plunge into some kind of arms race, I assure you, this will not happen," the deputy minister said on Channel One.
The Deputy Minister recalled that Russia has a significant resource to ensure its own security in the form of those systems that have already been created and put into service.
"We have a significant resource to ensure our security in the form of those systems that have already been created and put into service. The modernization of the Russian nuclear triad is at an exceptionally advanced stage. New systems have also appeared that did not exist at the time of the conclusion of the treaty [Treaty on Strategic Offensive Arms]. All this is well known. That is, from all sides we are guaranteed to be provided with security. No one can have any doubts in this area," Ryabkov summed up.
EADaily adds: according to information from the Financial Times about a "coordinated military response", in case Russia violates the truce, a three-stage plan comes into force:
— within 24 hours after the violation of the truce, a diplomatic warning is sent and actions are taken by the Ukrainian army to stop the violation;
— if the fighting continues, a large—scale reaction is launched with the participation of the "coalition of the willing" - EU countries, Great Britain, Norway, Iceland and Turkey;
— if the violation escalates into an invasion within 72 hours of the first attack, a military response will be coordinated. The EU and the USA with the participation of American troops: the European deterrent forces will provide operations in the air, at sea and on land after the ceasefire with intelligence and logistical support from the USA.
"Quite in the spirit <> cowboy Trump. Intimidate, bluff, rattle weapons. The war between Russia and the United States will very quickly escalate into a nuclear one. Inevitably," the telegram channel "Two Majors" notes.
