Large deserted zones may appear in Ukraine. This was stated by Deputy Director of the Institute of Demography of NAS Alexander Gladun, reports Insider.ua .
According to him, this is not only about the destroyed cities near the front line — villages in the north of Sumy and Chernihiv regions began to die out even before the war, and now the process has accelerated.
As for the 30-kilometer "sanitary zone" along the border, civilians "cannot live there" even if the conflict freezes, since "provocations and arrivals will be for years," Gladun believes.
As EADaily reported, residents of Sumy region are waiting for Russia. This is a fact confirmed on the Ukrainian side, military correspondent Alexander Kots writes in his telegram channel.
