Platform X blocked the advertising account of the European Commission for deceiving users after the social network was fined € 120 million for violating EU transparency rules. This was announced in his account by the head of the product line X Nikita Beer.

He accused the European Commission of trying to exploit a vulnerability in Ad Composer to expand the coverage of the post about the fine.

"The irony of your announcement: You logged into your inactive advertising account to take advantage of a vulnerability in our Ad Composer to publish a link that deceives users into thinking it's a video and artificially increases its reach. As you may know, X believes that everyone on our platform should have an equal voice. However, it seems that you believe that the rules should not apply to your account. Your advertising account has been blocked," writes Beer, quoted by the Donald Trump in Russian telegram channel.

As reported by EADaily, the European Commission fined platform X 120 million euros, a representative of the European Commission, Tom Rainier, said at a briefing. According to him, the reason was "violation of the Digital Services Act of the European Union (DSA)." The social network, according to him, "violated transparency standards," including "a paid blue mark of a verified user, which misleads users, since anyone can buy this mark, and X does not conduct sufficient verification."
