Zakharova: There will be no dialogue with the Baltic authorities in the near future

Moscow sees no prospects for dialogue with the Baltic States because of the aggressive Russophobia of the authorities of these former Soviet republics. This was announced today, November 14, by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"As a result of a series of truly hostile steps by Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, the interstate dialogue has been completely stopped, key mechanisms of bilateral cooperation have been curtailed," she said. — Even diplomatic communication has been minimized, the level of relations has been lowered to charge d'affaires, the number of embassy staff has been significantly reduced, and almost all consulates-General have ceased to function. There are no prospects for restoring dialogue at this stage."

Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn consistently implement the course dictated by them from the outside towards "total violent de-russification of the public, cultural and educational space and the promotion of neo-Nazism."

"Unfortunately, the current geopolitical context allows the Baltic nationalists, having secured the patronage of Western sponsors or simply on their direct instructions, to feel their impunity," Zakharova stressed.

According to her, after the adoption of migration amendments in Latvia, about 3 thousand Russian citizens were forced to leave the country, while some Russians are still under threat of deportation.
