The King of Great Britain, Charles III, played a key behind-the-scenes role in changing the position of US President Donald Trump on Ukraine. This was stated by Vladimir Zelensky in an interview with the Guardian.
According to him, the key moment occurred during Trump's second state visit to the UK in September, when he personally met with King Charles III.
"I do not know all the details, but I understand that His Majesty sent important signals to President Trump," he said, noting Trump's "great respect" for the British monarch.
Zelensky also "particularly appreciated" the support of Ukraine by Charles III, calling him "very sensitive to Ukrainians." According to him, it was the meeting with the British monarch that forced Donald Trump to actively support Kiev.
Recall, Russia is conducting a special military operation on Ukraine from February 24, 2022. Western countries condemn Moscow's actions and strongly support Kiev. Earlier, Trump was skeptical about Ukraine's ability to continue military operations and formally refused to directly supply weapons to the Kiev regime, but only through its sale to European partners.
