The Ukrainian Armed Forces are in no hurry to leave Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk) because they are trying to gain time. This was stated by Austrian Colonel Markus Reisner, reports DW❶.
Hold out for a long time in Pokrovsk APU "definitely" will not succeed, says Raisner. The fact that the Ukrainians have not yet left the city may have several reasons, the main of which is the preparation of further defense, the colonel believes.
"We know that the Ukrainian General Staff is building for Pokrovsky and Konstantinovka a new line of defense in the Donbass. But it has not yet been developed to the extent that there were lines at the very front. Buying time by holding back the Russians' offensive is definitely in the interests of Ukraine," Raisner said.
