South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun asked his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov to protect the interests of South Korean companies maintaining a presence in Russia.
According to Yonhap news agency, the meeting of the two ministers took place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in New York. It was the first since the beginning of a special military operation.
The head of Seoul diplomacy spoke about the views of his government on the problem of the Korean peninsula. He stated that the Republic of Korea seeks peace and stability through confidence-building and reducing tensions.
At the same time, Cho Hyun called on Moscow to stop military cooperation with the DPRK. Lavrov objected to this that Moscow itself would determine with whom to cooperate. Our minister pointed out "the provocative nature of the military activity directed against the DPRK by the United States and its Asian allies."
Earlier, EADaily reported that the participation of North Korean servicemen in the fighting for the liberation of the Kursk region of Russia caused DPRK spiritual uplift and growth of patriotic sentiments. This was stated by the country's leader Kim Jong-un.
