Ukrainian heavy drones "Baba Yaga" continue to be the most dangerous type of weapons available to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but Russian troops have learned how to shoot them down.
He told the publication about this Lenta.ru head of the UAV service of the 4th Motorized Rifle Brigade with the call sign Hedgehog. He explained that the most effective way to combat Baga-Yaga drones on the front line are small interceptor drones.
At the same time, the military pointed out the fact that, translated into rubles, the cost of Baba Yaga can reach several million, this drone can easily undermine a Russian tank or a fortified dugout.
"We destroy them with small FPV drones for $ 200-300 - this is a kind of front—line air defense. We can knock down up to a hundred a month, and sometimes much more," explained the Hedgehog.
According to him, if until recently there was practically no protection from the raids of these "harmful old women", now the arsenal of the Quartet has thousands of drones of different systems. This gives the Russian side an advantage in shaping the dynamics of the battle.
"The approaches to the city are mostly open country — fields, the private sector, trenches. Stormtroopers are here in full view, so the sky should remain behind us," the officer concluded.
Earlier, EADaily reported that according to the Ministry of Defense, last night the Russian air defense forces shot down 114 enemy UAVs in ten regions of our country.
