The prospect of holding a summit in the format of a trilateral meeting between Russia, Ukraine and the United States is unrealizable because of the position taken by the Kiev regime.
This was stated to the TASS news agency by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov. He stressed that in order to start negotiations, Kiev must demonstrate a "reasonable response" to the proposals of the Russian side.
The diplomat recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly and exhaustively spoken about contacts with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky.
"If there is no sound, sober, reasonable response to our signals, there is no reason to talk about some kind of trilateral format," Ryabkov stated.
Recall that in early September, President Putin announced his readiness to invite Zelensky to Moscow for a meeting. However, Zelensky reportedly refused this offer during a press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron.
As reported by EADaily, earlier the Kremlin's position on this issue was once again expressed by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov. He said that calls to urgently hold a meeting on Ukraine at the highest level indicate a desire to achieve an emotional effect, but Moscow does not see the point in such meetings.
