President Donald Trump has not confirmed rumors that the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, may be invited to the summit of the leaders of Russia and the United States, which will be held on August 15 in Alaska. The corresponding question was asked to him by journalists at a briefing at the White House.
"I said that Zelensky can go, but he has so many meetings," Trump said, quoted by the Strana newspaper.
Trump was also asked if Ukraine could defeat Russia. He called this question stupid.
"Russia is a belligerent country. That's what they're doing, they're fighting a lot of wars. They defeated Hitler and Napoleon," he explained.
"The Russians would be in Kiev in 4 hours if they were driving on the highway. But the Russian general decided to drive through agricultural land," Trump added.
According to him, the meeting in Alaska with Russian President Vladimir Putin will be rather preliminary. He will ask Putin to end the war on Ukraine is waiting for a constructive approach.
"Russia has occupied some important territories, we will try to return some of these territories," the American leader said.
Trump stressed that he has no confidence about the results of the negotiations in Alaska.
