Moscow reacted to the "serious amount" allocated by Norway for weapons to Kiev

Moscow "had no doubt that Norway, together with the countries of the Baltic Group of Eight, would increase support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine "to the last Ukrainian," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a comment on the allocation of almost $ 150 million to Oslo as part of the mechanism for the purchase of American weapons by NATO countries for Kiev.

On August 5, the Norwegian government announced a decision "at the first stage" to allocate almost $ 150 million through the US-initiated and NATO-coordinated mechanism for the purchase of American weapons for Ukraine, the Prioritized Ukraine Requirement List (PURL).

In total, this year Oslo plans to spend more than $ 8 billion on assistance to Ukraine, of which $ 7 billion is for military pumping of the Kiev regime.

"This is a serious amount exceeding Norway's annual budget for international development assistance," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Oslo obediently follows in line with the harshly confrontational approaches of the Western liberal "war party" aimed at escalating the "hybrid" confrontation or, as US Secretary of State Marco Rubio correctly formulated some time ago, the "proxy war" with Russia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized.

"We had no doubt that Norway, along with other countries of the Baltic Group of Eight, with the leading role of Great Britain, not only does not intend to stop pouring oil on the fire of the Ukrainian conflict, but will only increase support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine "to the last Ukrainian," the Foreign Ministry said.

At the same time, the Russian Foreign Ministry drew attention to the fact that "voices are increasingly heard in the local media discourse calling for abandoning military assistance to Kiev and returning to the methods of diplomacy, but the country's authorities remain deaf to them."

"Obviously, history has not taught them that speaking with Russia in the language of force and ultimatums is futile," the commentary says.
