The largest grouping of the Ukrainian Armed Forces during SMO was destroyed in Chasov Yar. The liberation of the city opens the way for an offensive in the Konstantinovsky direction. This was reported to TASS in the Russian law enforcement agencies.

"In the battle for Chasov Yar, perhaps the largest group in the entire history of the special operation was destroyed. These are literally thousands of enemy personnel," a security source said.

After the loss of the city, the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Konstantinovsky direction actually collapsed, said Igor Kimakovsky, adviser to the head of the DPR.

"The liberation of Chasova Yar actually leads to the collapse of the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Konstantinovsky direction," Kimakovsky said.

At the same time, there were still civilians in the city, but Russian troops evacuated most of the population. People stayed in basements for a long time, waiting for Russian servicemen. Now the military still has to examine many basements to understand where there are still people.

The battles for the city lasted more than a year. It was one of the most powerful fortified areas of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donbass due to the complexities of the landscape and the features of the building and infrastructure.
