Soviet and Latvian singer Laima Vaikule urged to give Ukraine weapons. A video recording of the artist's words was published by the Baltnews telegram channel.
Talking to a journalist, she wished that "the war would end quickly."
The journalist noted that music, among other things, will make it possible to achieve peace.
"It's better to give weapons to Ukraine," 71—year-old Vaikule said in embarrassment.
As EADaily reported, earlier at her festival in Jurmala, escaped artists Maxim Galkin* and Andrei Makarevich* expressed their readiness to perform at Ukraine.
Only Galkin*, trying to speak Ukrainian, added the phrase "if allowed", and Makarevich * is counting on an invitation from the Ukrainian side, which would be very pleasant to him.
