New data will be added to the identity cards of Azerbaijani citizens

In Azerbaijan, new data of citizens will be added to identity cards — information about the place of residence and citizenship.

President Ilham Aliyev has approved amendments to the law "On Identity Card of a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan".

It is noted that at the same time, only the necessary information will be stored on the electronic media (chip).

In addition, the marital status of a citizen, parents, children, military duty and other information will now be stored and cryptographically protected not directly on electronic media, but through IAMAS (interdepartmental automated information retrieval system).
