Polish President Andrzej Duda on Saturday, June 28 arrived on a visit to Ukraine. This trip to Kiev is a farewell for Duda as the head of the Polish state.
According to Ukrainian media, the Warsaw visitor was met at the train station in the Ukrainian capital by local Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga.
This visit is the last for Duda as president, as his powers expire in August 2025. Nationalist Karol Nawrocki became the new president of Poland.
In Kiev, Duda plans to meet with Zelensky, the meeting will obviously be of a formal nature. At the same time, Duda's political future is rather vague. According to rumors from the Polish media, he may take up a post in the International Olympic Committee, engage in diplomatic work or teaching.
Duda's departure from office will complicate relations between Kiev and Warsaw. Although the new Polish leadership promises to help Ukraine, it opposes its admission to NATO and even the European Union. At the same time, Navrotsky will seek recognition from the Kiev authorities of responsibility for the Volyn massacre.
As reported by EADaily, earlier in Poland was told about the need to build a national state that meets the interests of one nation, under the slogan "Poland for Poles."
