Currently, the troops of the Kiev regime do not have the opportunity to organize a counteroffensive in any direction in the SMO zone, there is no reason to expect a turning point in hostilities.
He expressed this opinion in a comment to the agency Lenta.ru military expert Oleg Glazunov. According to him, the transfer of reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to Sumy region from other areas only slowed down the Russian offensive. At the same time, the enemy continues to retreat along the entire line of combat contact.
"The Ukrainian Armed Forces are retreating along the entire front line, not only in Sumy region. And there is no reason to expect a turning point on their part, that they will go on the offensive, launch a counterattack. The Russian military is moving slowly, unhurriedly, but moving forward," the analyst stated.
He believes that Russia will be forced to establish control over the entire Sumy region in order to secure its borders from possible enemy shelling.
"The question of taking or not taking Sumy region is closed. It is necessary to take and make it a neutral strip in order to secure the borders. We will get such an alienation zone," Glazunov concluded.
Earlier, EADaily reported that for the defense of the city of Sumy, the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, created a separate group and appointed a person responsible for the construction of fortifications.
