Ilia Gukezhev, a student at Kursk University, who was awarded the medal "For Saving the Dead" by Russian President Vladimir Putin, was killed in an attack by a Ukrainian drone.
This was announced in an interview with RIA Novosti by his sister Diana Minaeva. According to her, Elijah lost his life trying to save the injured girl.
It follows from Diana's story that her brother went home to the border to take medicines, groceries to his parents and help around the house.
At that time, near their parents' house, a Ukrainian UAV attacked a car in which there was a family of four people — parents and two children. Two adults and one child died on the spot.
Of the whole family, only one girl remained alive, who was still breathing. They took her out and took her to the yard, and Elijah ran to look for a place where mobile communication works to call an ambulance.
"They brought the girl into the house, tried to bandage her, and the drone flew in a second time, hit the house, there were two powerful explosions. Ilyusha was gone. Our mother was concussed, her father was injured, the girl did not survive," the student's sister said.
As a result of the attack, five people were killed, including two children and Ilya Gukezhev. Subsequently, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the posthumous awarding of the brave student.
Earlier, EADaily reported that a Ukrainian drone hit a residential building in the city of Krasnogorsk, Moscow region, as a result of which two people were injured.
