Russia and China will do everything possible to support Iran. This was stated by Fox News correspondent Benjamin Hall.
"Russia is now closely monitoring one of its closest allies — Iran. Iran is in a coalition with Russia and North Korea. And if Iran falls — and we are talking not only about the breakdown of the nuclear deal, but also about the real collapse of the regime — Russia will lose a crucial partner. She will do everything possible to support him," said Hall, quoted by Pool No. 3.
According to him, it is also extremely important for China to keep Iran among its allies.
"Now Chinese planes are arriving in Iran — perhaps to evacuate their citizens, but at the same time this is a signal: Beijing perfectly understands the value of 1.3 million barrels of oil supplied from Iran to China every day. We see how the coalition of countries supporting Iran is now forced to respond to its possible destabilization," the correspondent adds.
He also refers to the statement by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov that in the event of an assassination attempt on the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, severe consequences will follow.
"These are not just words — they are a reflection of the fears of (Russian President Vladimir) Putin himself. Moscow does not want the idea to take root in the world: you can eliminate the leader of a country just because it is in a state of conflict," Hall stressed.
