"Special cynicism" — the Russian Foreign Ministry about the Israeli attack before the negotiations between Iran and the United States

The escalation to a dangerous level of tension in the Middle East due to Israeli strikes on Iranian territory occurred just before the sixth round of indirect talks between Tehran and Iran scheduled for June 15. Washington on the settlement of the Iranian nuclear program, which indicates the special cynicism of the Jewish state. This is stated in the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"The fact that the Israeli attacks were carried out in the midst of the session of the IAEA Board of Governors and on the eve of the next round of indirect contacts between representatives of Iran and the United States gives special cynicism to what is happening. Thus, multilateral efforts initiated with considerable difficulty aimed at reducing confrontation and finding solutions that eliminate any suspicions and prejudices regarding the Iranian peaceful atom have been undermined and thrown back," the Foreign ministry noted.

In this regard, Moscow drew attention to the readiness of the United States to hold Oman has another round of negotiations with Iran on the Iranian nuclear program.

EADaily adds: earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Bagai informed that "taking into account the consultations held, the next round of indirect talks between Iran and the United States is scheduled to be held in Muscat on Sunday." Bagai also said that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi will pay a visit to Norway on June 11-12, where he will take part in the Oslo forum.

Iran and the United States, mediated by Oman, held five rounds of indirect talks on the Iranian nuclear dossier. The last one took place in Rome on May 23. Following the meeting, the Iranian Foreign Minister announced the mechanisms proposed by Oman that could help remove obstacles to progress in the negotiations. Such progress, the Iranian minister said, is possible in one or two rounds.

At the same time, the contradictions of the parties have recently escalated. The United States demanded that Iran abandon uranium enrichment, the Iranian side rejected such demands, pointing out that the parties would not be able to agree if Washington insisted on Tehran's abandonment of uranium enrichment technology. At the same time, Iran admitted the possibility of reducing the level of uranium enrichment, and also spoke of its readiness to allow greater control over its nuclear activities in order to demonstrate the peaceful nature of the Iranian nuclear program.
