The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan expressed concern to the Russian side about the inspections of Uzbek citizens in the country.
"Today, a regular meeting was held with the Russian side on migration issues. We stressed that reports of unauthorized inspections, disrespect and mistreatment of Uzbek citizens in some cases on the territory of Russia are of concern. We drew attention to the fact that such cases do not correspond to friendly relations between our countries, that concrete measures are needed to prevent them," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Akhrora Burkhanova said on June 10 in a telegram channel.
The Uzbek side appealed to the "relevant bodies of the Russian Federation" with a request to "treat the citizens of Uzbekistan with respect, not to humiliate their honor and dignity." A note was sent to the Russian Foreign Ministry with a request to comment on the situation and give a legal assessment of the actions of representatives of law enforcement organizations.
Earlier, the Migration Agency under the Government of Uzbekistan reported that on June 8 in Moscow in In Sokolniki, during the activities to verify the legal status of labor migrants from Central Asian countries, Rosgvardiya officers used physical force against some migrants. As a result of the raid, 5-6 people were detained. They were deported for violating the migration regime.
