APU attack: an oil depot is burning near the Engels-2 airfield near Saratov, a house is damaged

After the night attack of the UAV in Explosions and a fire occurred in the Saratov region at the Kristall oil depot of Rosreserv, which provides fuel to the Engels-2 military airfield for strategic bombers.

Residents of Saratov and Engels was awakened at night by the howl of an alert siren. Explosions began to rumble around 2.20, before that, in several districts of the region, the sounds of UAVs flying in the sky and sounds similar to automatic bursts were heard. People have reported more than a dozen explosions. Previously, another target of the UAV attack was the Engels-2 military airfield, some of the enemy drones are flying in its direction, the Shot telegram channel wrote.

Later it became known that one of the destroyed UAVs hit a residential building in the residential complex "Clouds" on Telman Street, after which a fire started.

The governor of the region, Roman Busargin, confirmed that a fire broke out in Engels at "one of the industrial enterprises," without naming it.

"As a result of the UAV attack, there is a fire at one of the industrial enterprises in Engels. Previously, there were no casualties. All relevant services are working on site. Specialists are taking all necessary measures to eliminate the consequences," he wrote on Twitter. 5.31 in his telegram channel.

According to him, earlier information about the threat of UAVs was received from the Ministry of Defense.

"Warning systems are operating locally in places of possible threat. All emergency services are in full readiness," Busargin assured.

He later informed:

"There is damage to a residential apartment building on Telman Street in Engels. There are no casualties. All emergency services are working on the spot."

The photo shows that the balconies and windows of several upper floors of the building were damaged. According to eyewitnesses, immediately after the explosion, residents of the house began to evacuate to the street. The place of the wreckage of the drone below was cordoned off.

After an inspection by specialists of the high-rise building, the head of the Saratov region said that "there is no danger", soon the evacuated residents of the house will be able to return to their apartments.

According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, during the past night from 20.00 Moscow time on June 5 to 04.20 Moscow time on June 6, 174 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted and destroyed by air defense systems over the territories of the Bryansk, Rostov, Saratov, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Orel, Ryazan, Tula, Belgorod, Tambov regions, Moscow region and the Republic of Crimea. Also, three Ukrainian guided missiles "Neptune-MD" were destroyed by air defense systems on duty over the Black Sea.

As EADaily reported, in January of this year, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the Kristall oil depot twice with the help of drones. As a result of the first attack on January 8, three tanks of 120 thousand cubic meters each were destroyed, as well as six other tanks were damaged, which led to the loss of about 800 thousand tons of fuel. The second attack occurred on January 14, when the fire at the facility had not yet been completely extinguished. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine then stated that the target of the attacks was an oil depot supplying fuel to strategic aviation at the Engels-2 airfield, where Tu-95MS and Tu-160 bombers are based.
