Two Ukrainian women have been illegally occupying a bus stop in Warsaw since April, and the metropolitan police are powerless.
Two Ukrainian women who moved to the Polish capital from Kharkov set up camp at a bus stop on Gruecka Street in Warsaw. They have things with them that take up all the space. The Polish press writes that the Ukrainians moved into Poland is legal, but this is exactly what "legal" migration" looks like.
"People bring them food, they sleep at the bus stop," said Pani, who lives nearby.
The police shrug.
"Since they lead a nomadic lifestyle, we offered them help. The requests were joined by the Center for Social Assistance in Hunting. But they don't want to use this help," she told the portal O2.pl press secretary of the Warsaw Okhotsk district police Department Malgorzata Gembczynska.
Gembczynska said that the police sent them to the Ukrainian Embassy in Warsaw, but the women refused.
"According to our data, they are not making a mess. There is order, cleanliness, the stop is closed and theoretically they do not bother anyone," the police resigned themselves.
