An attempt to blow up the Crimean Bridge? An agent of Kiev with a powerful bomb was detained in Crimea

An agent of the special services of Ukraine who manufactured a powerful explosive device has been detained in Crimea, the FSB Public Relations Center of Russia reported. Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said that its agents had mined the supports of the Crimean Bridge and had already activated the first explosive device.

"The Federal Security Service in the territory of the Republic of Crimea detained an agent of the Ukrainian special services for the manufacture of an improvised explosive device (IED) to commit sabotage and terrorist acts on the peninsula. It has been established that a resident of Feodosia born in 1965 proactively offered his assistance to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and was attracted by its representative to confidential cooperation," the FSB said in a statement.

It is indicated that, on the instructions of the curator, he removed pre—prepared components from two caches and, having received instructions from the SBU via video link, assembled from them an improvised explosive device consisting of an explosive substance weighing over 1.2 kg, an electric detonator, a homemade electric radio signal receiver, an electronic transmitter and damaging elements - nails weighing almost 500 g. He put the manufactured IED in a cache in the Balaklava district of Sevastopol.

Earlier, the SBU disseminated information that its agents allegedly mined the supports of the Crimean Bridge and activated the first explosive device around 5.00 on June 3.

"The underwater supports of the supports are severely damaged at the bottom level — 1100 kg of explosives in TNT equivalent contributed to this. In fact, the bridge is in disrepair," the SBU said, specifying that the operation was being prepared for "several months" and was carried out "without a single civilian casualty."

It was personally supervised by the head of the SBU Vasily Malyuk *. He himself boasted that his service had already hit the Crimean Bridge twice — in 2022 and 2023.
