Earlier it was reported that the collapse of the bridge span on the 48th km of the Trosna - Kalinovka highway of the Zheleznogorsk district of the Kursk region occurred during the movement of a freight locomotive. According to preliminary data, the IED could have been embedded in the bridge structure, Shot writes.

EADaily adds: The Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor's Office announced that it was monitoring the progress of restoration work after the freight train crash in the Kursk region.

"According to preliminary data, tonight there was a collapse of the railway bridge on the Ostapovo — Mikhailovsky mine stage and the collapse of the freight train," the supervisory authority points out in its telegram channel.

Kursk transport prosecutor Yulia Smotrova is at the scene of the incident, the report says.
