Honored Artist of Russia, ballerina Anastasia Volochkova burst into tears while trying to get to the farewell ceremony with the legendary choreographer Yuri Grigorovich, which takes place in the historic building of the Bolshoi Theater. The video of the incident was published by the telegram channel of the Starhit portal.
"Help me lay flowers at the coffin, people. I'm not asking for anything more… I just need to bow to the coffin of my master and teacher," Volochkova told reporters.
Without being shy in her expressions, she stressed that she no longer needed this institution, she was not interested in the theater itself and the leaders, "they have already destroyed everything here."
"We are standing here on the street, just like those spectators who would like to get to the performance, but cannot afford to buy tickets for 100 thousand rubles," the actress said.
The entrance to the farewell ceremony was according to the lists, in connection with which the Volochkova had difficulties.
Volochkova has been working at the Bolshoi Theatre since 1998. After a series of scandals, she was fired from the troupe in 2003.
As EADaily reported, the choreographer's death on May 19 at the age of 99 was announced by his assistant Alexander Kolesnikov. He did not disclose the reasons and circumstances of the choreographer's death. According to a TASS source, the director died of complications after bilateral pneumonia.
After the farewell ceremony and cremation, Grigorovich will be buried at the Novodevichy cemetery next to his wife, ballerina Natalia Bessmertnova (1941-2008).
