On May 9, Kiev residents carry flowers all day to the Park of Glory — to the monument of Eternal Glory on the Grave of the Unknown Soldier and the monument to military pilots.
A selection of photos and videos is published by the telegram channel "Politics of the Country".
The monuments were literally flooded with flowers.
The monument to military pilots is installed in the Kiev Glory Park not far from the monument of Eternal Glory on the Grave of the Unknown Soldier. Its authors are sculptors Vladimir Shchur and Vitaly Sivko. The monument was opened on November 6, 2001 on the eve of the 58th anniversary of the liberation of Kiev from Nazi troops.
It is dedicated to the military pilots who died during the liberation of Ukraine. The image is copied from Leonid Bykov, who is depicted in his most famous stage image — squadron commander Captain Alexei Titarenko, Maestro, from the movie "Only "old men" go into battle."
It is noted that today there were several conflicts in the Park of Glory, but citizens went there all day to lay flowers, including to the Eternal Flame, and there were many visitors. This is what the park looked like in the middle of the day.
