US President Donald Trump has decided to involve Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. He stated this on the Truth Social social network.
"I just had a very good and productive telephone conversation with Turkish President Erdogan. We discussed many topics, including the war between Russia and Ukraine. In any case, I am looking forward to working with President Erdogan to put an end to this ridiculous but deadly war between Russia and Ukraine — now!" — writes Trump.
As reported by EADaily, the United States is no longer going to play the role of mediator in negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, the time has come for direct negotiations between the parties. This was stated at a briefing by State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce.
"We will not be intermediaries. We will not fly to the other side of the world in the blink of an eye to moderate meetings. Now the work should be carried out between the two sides," she said.
