Russian President Vladimir Putin is a very smart and cunning man, and he most likely was not going to finish the special operation. However, Donald Trump believes that a peace deal will be concluded. The US president announced this at a briefing today.
"He is a very smart, very cunning person. I've dealt with some very bad people, too. I will say this: I think he had no intention of ending this war. We talked after I won the election. I think we'll make a deal. I can't guarantee it, a deal is a deal and everything happens, but I think we will do it. If I hadn't won the election, I think he would have continued the offensive… Ukrainians are excellent fighters, but I must say that without our equipment, this war, as many say, would have ended very quickly," Trump said, quoted by Pool 3.
The American leader once again recalled that it was he who handed over Javelins and other anti-tank weapons to Ukraine at the beginning of the conflict.
"They say that (Barak) Obama gave them (Ukrainians. — EADaily) blankets, and I am "Javelins". I really did it, but I want it to come to an end," he said.
When asked if Putin would have to make concessions, he answered in the affirmative.
"Yeah. He'll have to. And I think this war will end thanks to our victory [in the elections]," Trump said.
