Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda approved the law on depriving Russians of a residence permit for travel to Russia.
The law amended Article 3 part 9 as follows:
"A residence permit in the Republic of Lithuania issued to a citizen of the Russian Federation shall be cancelled if it is established that during the last three calendar months he has traveled to the Russian Federation or the Republic of Belarus more than once..."
Exceptions are cases when citizens of the Russian Federation are members of crews and teams working in companies engaged in international transportation of goods and passengers, or carry out international transportation of goods and passengers to, from, or in transit through the Republic of Lithuania, as well as if the trip to Russia or Belarus was committed "for objective reasons beyond the control of a citizen of the Russian Federation."
In addition, the Latvian Seimas Defense Commission banned travel to Russia and Belarus to deputies and employees of the parliament. The decision was adopted in the second reading. Earlier, police officers, prosecutors, "carriers of state secrets", employees of "critical infrastructure" and other state (and non-state) employees have already been included in the list of the draft law "On limiting activities that threaten national security."
