Swiss producer Jean-Louis Porsche committed suicide at the age of 76. This is reported by the portal 24Heures.
It is specified that he committed suicide on March 31, two days after his birthday.
"Collaboration with director Roman Polanski on the set of the movie "The Palace" led him to collapse," the publication claims.
Jean-Louis Porsche was born on March 29, 1949 in Lausanne. He started his career as a screenwriter and director. In 1984, he founded the production company CAB Productions together with Gerard Ruet, which has released dozens of Swiss and international films, including "Bets are Made" (1997), "Sentimental Destinies" (2000), "Left Foot, Right Foot" (2012) and "Sils Maria" (2014). CAB Productions gained the greatest fame after the release of the trilogy of the Polish director Krzysztof Kieslowski "Three Colors" ("Blue", "White", "Red" — 1993-1994).
In 2022, Polanski's critically acclaimed film "The Palace" was released, which premiered as part of the 80th Venice Festival outside the competition program. The film grossed only $ 972 thousand at the box office, which led to financial difficulties for the film's producer Jean-Louis Porsche.
In 2024, the producer got into a serious accident, but Porsche's health gradually improved.
Over the years, Porsche CAB Productions has produced more than 90 films, including documentaries and television projects.
