The author of popular detective stories, writer Daria Dontsova regretted leaving the Russian colleague Boris Akunin* (Grigory Chkhartishvili***). She stated this in an interview on the Tatarka FM YouTube channel.
"I thought he made a very big mistake," Dontsova responded to Akunin's first statements about a special military operation.
She stressed that there are "Akunins and Dontsovs" abroad, so it is very difficult to continue a career there, which was very successful in the Russian Federation.
"He punished himself. The reader's love and the finances that he had in Russia is unlikely to be in the West. There he will be one of many, and here he was Akunin," the writer is sure.
Dontsova noted that she never intended to leave the country, which gave her a lot.
"The motherland is like a mother — she is alone. And they don't leave my mother," Dontsova concluded.
As EADaily reported, in early February of this year, Akunin* was put on the international wanted list and arrested in absentia. It was clarified that the writer is accused of publicly calling for terrorist activities and spreading fakes about The Armed Forces of Russia.
Last week, the Moscow Prosecutor's Office initiated criminal prosecution against the writer under Part 2 of Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (evasion of duties provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation on foreign agents)."
