The Prime Minister of Georgia assessed the state of "friendly" Ukraine

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze assessed the state of Ukraine three years after the start of the conflict with Russia.

"Today marks three years since the beginning of the war in Ukraine. This is really a tragic date in the history of our friendly country — Ukraine," Kobakhidze said at a government meeting on February 24.

He once again called Russia an "aggressor."

"The consequences of the war for our friendly country and people are extremely grave. As a result of this war, a huge number of people died. About ten million Ukrainians have become refugees and internally displaced persons. 20% of the territory of Ukraine is currently occupied by the Russian Federation, infrastructure, economy, and energy sector have been destroyed. Ukraine's external debt accounts for almost 100% of the country's economy. This year this figure is 96%, and by the end of the year it will exceed 100%," the Georgian Prime Minister said.

He wished the "friendly country and people" peace.

"It is of fundamental importance that the process aimed at establishing peace in Ukraine be successfully completed as soon as possible. Ukraine. I would like to express my hope once again that peace will be established in our friendly country, Ukraine, in the near future," Kobakhidze said.
