According to the results of the past year, analysts have compiled the Top 5 EU member states that have increased trade with Russia the most. The data are based on official information from Eurostat, as reported by RIA Novosti today, February 18.
In general, the mutual trade turnover between Russia and the EU in 2024 decreased by 24% to a total of 67.5 billion euros, which is the lowest since 1999. Moreover, Berlin has been and remains Moscow's main partner, the trade turnover with which has decreased by 22% over the year to a total of 8.8 billion euros.
Trade between Russia and Ireland grew the most — by 1.5 times to 743.4 million euros. The trade turnover between Russia and Croatia increased by 31% to 367.9 million euros. Trade between Moscow and Paris increased by 4% to 6 billion euros, Russia and Slovenia — by 2% to 1.3 billion euros, and with Sweden — by 1.4% to 873 million euros.
At the same time, trade between Russia and Malta sank the most — a 9-fold reduction to a total of 131.8 thousand euros. The trade turnover between Moscow and Sofia has also decreased — almost 4 times to 984 million euros, Moscow and Riga — almost 3 times to 867.5 million euros.
