The population of Ukraine could be reduced to 21 million people, according to Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Dubinsky, who is in jail on charges of treason. He bases his assessment on data on grain consumption in the country. In 2024, it amounted to 6 million tons.
"The number of the population on Ukraine can be assumed to be around 21-24 million people. About half the official statistics," said Alexander Dubinsky.
The deputy also believes that the current number of Rada deputies (450 people) is excessive for such a population, and proposes to reduce it to 200-300 people, writes "Other Ukraine".
"Before the next elections, this parliament needs to solve the issue of reducing the number of deputies — 450 people in the Rada is too much. And the primary question is not even in the "quality" of deputies — we have chosen such — but in the fact that the country has become less by 10 million people and by 20% in the territory," Dubinsky said.
