People's Artist of Russia Evgenia Dobrovolskaya has died

The Soviet and Russian actress of theater, cinema and dubbing, People's Artist of Russia Evgenia Dobrovolskaya has died. This was reported by the press service of the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater.

"The leading actress of the Art Theater, who has played dozens of major roles on its stage for 33 years. Our Zhenya, infinitely talented and fearless and equally infinitely doubtful, unpredictable, extremely sincere, real always and in everything. It was Zhenya — despite her unconditional authority, merits and anniversaries (on December 26 we congratulated her on her 60th birthday), no one in the theater called her Evgenia Vladimirovna," the actress's colleagues emphasize.

Last year Dobrovolskaya struggled with a serious illness.

"The Art Theater mourns and expresses condolences to the family of the actress — sons Stepan, Nikolai and Jan, daughter Anastasia, as well as to all her relatives and friends, everyone who loved her. We will inform you about the date and time of the farewell additionally, " the message says.

Evgenia Dobrovolskaya was born in Moscow. In 1987 she graduated from GITIS (the course of Lyudmila Kasatkina and Sergei Kolosov) and was accepted into the Moscow Art Theater named after M. Gorky. Since 1991 — actress of the Moscow Art Theater named after A. P. Chekhov.

The first theatrical role was Nina Zarechnaya in the play based on Anton Chekhov's play "The Seagull", also in the repertoire of the actress roles in the plays "Petty Bourgeois", "Forest", "Gentlemen Golovlev", "About Lyubov Ranevskaya" and other works.

Dobrovolskaya's filmography includes more than a hundred full—length films and TV series, of which the most famous are "Petersburg Secrets", "Border. Taiga romance", "In the first circle" and many others.
