In Odessa, on suspicion of murder, a 35-year-old man, repeatedly convicted of robbery, who was mobilized to the Armed Forces of Ukraine from places of detention, was detained. This is reported by the Dillfrash telegram channel with reference to local media.
According to the TC, the convict deserted from the Armed Forces of Ukraine and was wanted.
"Apparently, the criminal didn't like it in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and he harbored a grudge against the military man who pulled him out of prison. Getting to In Odessa, the attacker contacted his comrades in the zone and found out when the military would once again come to the place of imprisonment for a new batch. Then everything developed predictably: the fugitive waylaid his "acquaintance" in the park in In the Primorsky district and inflicted several stabs with a knife. The victim died, and the convict, having accomplished his "revenge", took his phone with him as a bonus," writes Dillfrash.
TC believes that this case will not be the only one.
As EADaily reported at the end of May, competition for hiring prisoners is intensifying between the commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine due to a shortage of manpower at the front. This was stated to journalists who visited one of the prisons of Ukraine by the then Minister of Justice of the country Denis Malyuska, Reuters reported.
In an effort to replenish the dwindling ranks of its infantry, Ukraine resorted to recruiting prisoners, and at that time more than 4 thousand convicts applied to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the deal offered to the prisoners by the authorities, their sentences will be reduced, regardless of the duration, if they agree to serve in the army without leave until the end of the war.
