The murder of the head of the RCBZ troops, General Igor Kirillov, is unacceptable. This was stated on the air of the Fox News channel by the future special envoy of US President Donald Trump for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg.
"Killing Kirillov was not a smart move," Kellogg said.
There are rules of warfare and there are certain things that simply do not do, he stressed.
"For example, usually wounded soldiers are not finished off on the battlefield, and non-combatants should not be killed either. When you kill a military general, admiral, or other major military figure in their hometown, you seem to expand (the battlefield. — Ed.). I don't think that's smart. You see, this simply does not comply with the rules of warfare. If you are a general, then you are a "legitimate target" on the battlefield. Like what happened, it means to go too far, for this you will have to hire mercenaries. I don't think this is a good idea," said Kellogg, quoted by the publication "Country".
As EADaily reported, the perpetrator of the terrorist attack in Moscow, in which the head of the RCBZ troops Igor Kirillov and his assistant were killed, turned out to be a 29-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan Akhmad Kurbonov. He has already been detained. For his "work", Ukrainian customers promised him 100 thousand dollars and accommodation in one of the EU countries.
