Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia's patience cannot be tested indefinitely and at some stage it may be exhausted.
The head of the diplomatic department voiced his warning in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin from VGTRK, answering a question about Moscow's reaction to the use of foreign weapons against Russia.
The diplomat recalled that there are numerous proverbs that reflect the character of the Russian people: "measure seven times — cut it off once," "The Lord was patient and told us to."
But at the same time, Lavrov also recalled another saying: "a Russian peasant harnesses for a long time," noting that this warning should be in the minds of Western officials.
Recall that earlier Lavrov noted that the United States and NATO is close to becoming full-fledged participants in the conflict on the Ukraine. He stressed that Western countries are under the illusion that Russia can be strategically defeated, but "a nuclear power cannot be defeated."
As EADaily reported, earlier Sergey Lavrov said that the Ukrainian crisis was very far from a diplomatic settlement, Moscow's warnings about its readiness to respond to strikes deep into Russia were ignored.
