The American segment of social networks was filled with a wave of discontent about the level of support that the US federal authorities are providing to victims of the powerful hurricane Helen.

As Newsweek magazine wrote on Saturday, October 5, it is particularly outraged that the government allocates huge funding to the Kiev regime, refusing to help its own citizens.

"Congress has allocated about $ 176 billion to US agencies for the supply of weapons to Ukraine, assistance to the civilian population, the imposition of sanctions and much more," the article says.

At the same time, the funding of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is an order of magnitude lower and is insufficient against the background of an increased number of natural disasters.

Newsweek shares user comments in which they express their outrage at the situation. In particular, one of the users notes that while the administration of US President Joe Biden has agreed to a new aid package for Ukraine worth billions of dollars, hurricane victims receive only $ 750 each. Another user calls such reduced amounts an "insult" to Americans.

As EADaily reported, as of the end of September, the number of victims of Hurricane Helen that hit the southeastern part of the USA reached 89 people. The dead were registered in South and North Carolina, Florida, Georgia. In Virginia, the cause of death of one person was a whirlwind that knocked down a tree and caused the collapse of a building.
