For the first time, the Russian Armed Forces used Shahed-136, equipped with Starlink — DE satellite communications

"The Russian Armed Forces have installed Starlink on Shahed-136: it's about unlimited communication range for a UAV flying 2,000 km. This is the first time the enemy has used Shahed with Starlink, but it is unlikely to be the last," writes Defense Express.

It is alleged that a drone equipped with a Starlink satellite connection was shot down by the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the repulse of a night attack by the Russian Armed Forces on objects on the Ukraine.

"This is a means of receiving feedback from the drone and the ability to transmit information from it and change the flight task at any distance. That is, the transformation of Shahed into an intelligence tool," states DE, quoted by Strana.

DE reports that such a connection may be necessary for the RF Armed Forces to transmit, for example, information collected by radio-technical means about the location of the positions of Ukrainian air defense systems or, if the drone is equipped with cameras, images. At the same time, in a mode that is unlikely to be fixed, DE emphasizes.

"It should also be added that thanks to Starlink and the camera installed in the Russian Federation, they can use Shahed as an extremely long—range barrage munition with the possibility of additional reconnaissance and destruction of even moving targets," the article says.

As reported by EADaily, tactical aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery groups of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation over the past day defeated the AFU radio communications center, workshops for the production and storage of UAVs, as well as enemy manpower and military equipment in 153 areas.
