In Warsaw they are indignant — in the ranking of the "best countries in the world" Poland is behind Russia

For the third year in a row, Switzerland tops the ranking of the "best countries in the world" prepared by the American edition of U.S. News and World Report. This year, Russia has become "better" than Poland, which greatly angered Warsaw Russophobes.

This ranking takes into account dozens of different factors, and 17,000 people from all over the world took part in the surveys. Switzerland overtook Japan (2nd place) and the USA (3rd) in the ranking.

Russia took the 36th place. And Poland is the 37th. This was enough for the embittered Polish Russophobes to raise a Facebook howl.

In the case of Russia, the authors of the American resource report write about tensions in relations with the West, but then note that "Russia has one of the largest economies in the world, which is based on vast natural resources." And then there is generally "sedition" from the point of view of Russophobes:

"The majority of the population are ethnic Russians, but there are more than 100 nationalities and languages in the country. The huge size of Russia and its deep history have made a significant cultural contribution to science and art. The Russians were the first to launch an artificial satellite into space and perform a spacewalk. Writers such as Alexander Pushkin, Fyodor Dostoevsky and Leo Tolstoy are synonymous with classical literature, while Alexander Solzhenitsyn and Boris Pasternak represented independence from the central government. Russia is a permanent member of the UN Security Council, as well as a member of major international organizations, including the Group of Twenty, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, the Council of Europe and the World Trade Organization."
