A number of Russian artists and businessmen have lost real estate in Finland due to utility debts. This is reported by the Life portal.
In particular, problems with Finnish apartments in the resort town of Punkaharyu arose from the People's Artist of the RSF SR Lydia Fedoseeva-Shukshina, actress Elena Kondulainen and People's Artist of Russia Alexander Pashutin. They owned apartments in the same building until the fall of 2023.
The publication explains that the management company of the house went bankrupt, in this regard, the apartments were seized, since in Finland the owners of housing are the Criminal Code, and the tenants only own shares that give the right to use the premises. To return their property, the artists will have to buy shares of a new management company if it appears. At the same time, local legislation does not provide any compensation for the loss of real estate.
According to the daughter of Fedoseeva-Shukshina Olga, the mother still hopes to return her apartment. However, now because of the closed borders, she can't even get there and pick up her things. After bankruptcy UK the condition of the house is gradually deteriorating, electricity and water supply have been cut off.
Since September 2022, Finland has not only closed its borders, but also suspended legal settlements with Russians. Residents of Russia can no longer come to the country or pay for utilities. At the same time, according to the country's Defense Ministry, Russians currently own 3.5 thousand real estate properties in Finland.
As EADaily reported, in early August it became known that entrepreneurs who speak Russian, even if they are Finnish citizens, are increasingly becoming problem customers of Finnish banks. The most common problem is difficulties in opening bank accounts.
